MRC SHOWCASES

Make sure your company takes advantage of our latest discoveries

The MRC Showcases are a new venture to bring together the MRC with our industry partners to showcases our innovative scientific thinking. The quarterly showcases highlight new advances and discoveries that aim to improve health. Each showcase will give a limited number of scientists, from pharmaceutical and biotech companies, unprecedented access to the latest research being undertaken by MRC units and institutes.

At each showcase, key experts will give talks, and poster sessions will reveal the latest research on a variety of topics. The first showcase was held in December 2006 covering themes in Neuroscience and Mental Health.

MRC science has already been used to create major healthcare products. For example, MRC patents and licences have been used to develop Avastin ®, Herceptin ®, Synagis ® and Tysabri ® drugs.

It is hoped the showcase programme will highlight new discoveries that will fuel the next generation of healthcare products.

Places on the showcases are limited, to give an opportunity for MRC researchers to work closely with a focused group of scientists from industry.
