TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER
Will your research lead to the next breakthrough in healthcare?
The ultimate goal of the MRC is to use our scientific discoveries in order to benefit human health. Our principle of supporting the very best science can only be made possible by the income the MRC receives and generates. Some of this income comes from exploiting our Intellectual Property (IP) generated through your work. Technologies invented by MRC scientists include DNA sequencing and techniques for generating therapeutic monoclonal antibodies. Any income from such inventions goes back to the MRC to fund further research. Of course it’s not only the MRC and public health that can benefit from your discoveries; you can too!
Who you should contact
All MRC Units and divisions in Institutes have a specific team, lead by a Business Manager (BM), assigned to them. BMs have post-doctoral research experience and will be able to discuss your work with you in detail - please contact them for more information – they will be pleased that you called.
We have divided up responsibility of the different research areas amongst BMs as follows:
• Oncology and reproductive sciences
• Neurosciences
• Devices, software and structural biology
• Infections and immunity
• Genetics and genomics
